Healthier You with Body Renew
Written by Shua
Maybe you’ve been living a life of luxury without a thought in the world for exercise. Maybe it’s been a long time since you actually put in effort into your body. Here are a couple things to remember when you’re getting started again or for the first time.
1. Get started.
Execution is the biggest part of reaching your goals and targets. Find out what it’s going to take to get you where you want to go, and then start.
2. Build your discipline muscle.
Whatever you’re doing right now, don’t go backward. Take small steps forward but don’t give up ground right now. If you’re just getting started, you want to make it clear to yourself that you are going forward not backward.
Use small steps. You can’t build muscle by doing one crazy workout session. It takes a commitment to building muscle, and in the same way, it takes a commitment to build the discipline to show up and start making progress on your goals. Each repetition of doing the right thing for your body is a muscle built in making it to your desired goals.
4. Drink water.
We live in a society that advertises protein drinks, smoothies, and juices and sodas everywhere. When you start working out, it can be tempting to want to use those things as a replacement for actually working out.
The healthiest thing you can do when you’re just starting to work out is to stay only on water. Get yourself a water bottle to carry around everywhere. It doesn’t have to be expensive, you just have to take it with you everywhere and stop drinking calories.
When you come into the gym or when you get ready for a workout, make sure to make a little bit of time before and after to get some good stretches and warm up in. Preparing for success doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it can help ward off exhaustion and lessen the pain of building muscle.
5. Get agile.
Your body was designed to move. And if you just sit in a circuit and do the workouts, then sit stationary on a cycle for your cardio, you will find less fulfillment than if you get up and move around a little bit. Get a session with one of our Personal Trainers to find out the best fitness goals to get your body moving. You don’t have to do Crossfit to get agile, but you do have to get moving.
