I have been battling with my weight for 12 yrs or so. Last July my doctor asked me to lose at least 10 pounds, because I was borderline diabetic. I made the decision to take control of my health last October, I joined Body Renew and started watching my calorie intake. Five months later I dropped three dress sizes, 25.9 pounds, 19.5 inches and 6.2% of body fat, more importantly, now all of my blood work is normal. I have more energy than before, I can go up stairs without losing my breath, am able to play with my kids and more. I feel more confident not because of how I look, but because of what I have been able to achieve so far.

I think the really big changes started to happen over the last few months when Brady told me that he was going to have me sign up for different challenges where I had to go the gym 4-6 days a week. Over the many weeks of the challenges
I noticed I was getting skinner while getting stronger the whole time eating the healthiest I ever had. I took third place in the willow winter solstice 5k during a blizzard and I going to run in a Tough Mudder during March.

When I started at Body Renew I was a new mother and getting ready for surgery. I couldn’t do any impact or core exercises. I was at my highest weight after surgery and had a negative outlook on my body. Working with Ray has contentiously pushed to do the extra step or run a little longer each day. I started coming to Body Renew in March of 2014. Four months after that I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I immediately underwent chemo and radiation therapy. Fast forward to February 2016 where I was declared remission. I had gained over 30 pounds from my diagnosis, along with other factors. Jonanthony changed my life. Since February, I have lost 50 pounds. With the support of my trainer, good eating habits and exercise, I know I’ll reach my goal weight.

I first started training with Brady at Body Renew after receiving an injury. I had the typical goal of weight loss as well as strengthening the area of injury. Brady was encouraging throughout the whole process. He gave diet options and when those options did not work, he found other solutions until we could find something that did work. Brady was the same way with his exercises, he was tough yet encouraging. If a certain exercise was not working, it would be modified or adjusted completely to accommodate what I needed and still pushed me to grow as a healthier person. With the change in diet to eating more frequently and increased exercise throughout the week, I have started to obtain my weight loss goals. My area of injury is strengthening, I’ve improved rotation, and improved my form while lifting. I have stronger mental health and more self- confidence. I gained more than my original goals and that is due to the help of Brady.

When I first joined Body Renew, I was a few weeks removed from an injury to my lower quadriceps that resulted mainly from poor weightlifting technique. Because of my injury, Nick recommended I work with a trainer. I was skeptical as I’d never before worked with one but, being hurt, I was open to the idea. I began working with Solo as I read her specialty was “prehabilitation.” I told her I wanted to learn proper technique in the hopes of preventing injury, and focus on overall conditioning. More importantly, was being able to confidently ride my bike as I’m an avid cyclist.

After the first few sessions I understood that Solo had a very deliberate plan to rebuild my foundation after months of inactivity. I felt that she genuinely had my best interests at heart. After training for several months, I feel completely confident in my leg, and have my strength and stamina back. I’ve learned so much not only about exercising, but about myself. Solo always reminded me to “have a plan” when I go to the gym, and wiser words are hard to find. Because of Solo, my initial skepticism about working with a trainer was completely dispelled.

Above all, Solo was an open book, always willing to share her knowledge and answer my myriad questions. She became both a trainer and a mentor.

I have struggled with my weight going up and down throughout my 30’s. I am one year away from turning 40 and engaged to be married. I wanted to get back to a healthier weight and increase my energy. My Fiancé and I have 3 kids, I was so out of shape, and I could hardly go upstairs without being out of breath. I started going on walks once a week, then I decided in September 2015 to get back to the gym, take it serious, and make a change. In October, I started with a Personal Trainer to keep me honest and motivated to go to the gym regularly. If I schedule an appointment, I followed through. In the past, I would stop going without this accountability. Having the trainer has really been the best thing I have done for myself. I have really enjoyed the progress I have made not only with my weight loss, but with added strength, energy and endurance.

In March, I increased my trainer sessions and worked with my trainer to help get my diet on track, with the help of my Advocare 24-day challenge. Changing my diet and increasing my training really jump started my progress. I now really enjoy going to the gym! My goals are 4 days a week, sometimes more if it works out with my family. The support of my trainer Ray and the rest of Body Renews staff, family, and friends have definitely made this journey easier and a joy.

My trainer Ray has been a huge supporter and has pushed me to success. His excellent knowledge in training pushes me to my limits. He has succeeded in helping me achieve my goals of looking younger by 40, I’ve been transformed into a healthier, happier, sexier me.

Katherine has been the best trainer I could ever ask for. I started at the club last December hoping to get back into shape after retiring three years prior. I was out of shape and my balance was nonexistent. My knees were so stiff and hurt so bad that I couldn’t even squat without extreme pain.

Katherine understands that each person has different needs and she trains me according to my special needs. I have gained some balance and I can squat now.

I am getting stronger each week and I can see the difference in my body. I may not have lost a lot of weight, but I have lost fat and gained muscles. Katherine is the best trainer a client can have.

She had several joint issues that were causing her problems due to her lack of strength. We started with lots of body weight exercises to build her foundation and slowly moved into weights.

She is a very hard worker and always stayed on our plan. I would see her in the gym five days a week working on her training plan I design. I am so proud of how far she has come. She has built strength in the lower body and can do perfect squats with barbells. We have also increased her upper body strength and helped relieve her elbow pain. My personal fitness transformation began twelve months after losing my long-time significant other to a tragic accident in March of 2015. For an entire year following the loss of Michael, I refused to take care of my body. I retreated into a state of mourning and grieving that resulted in significant, negative changes in both my physical body and mental state of well-being. Grief took its toll on my overall existence and I no longer recognized the woman I had become. I was in a shell of myself, lost emotionally, and extremely unhealthy.

In March of 2016, I convinced myself that it was time to take back my health. I humbled myself as I decided to talk with Alectra regarding personal training. I was ashamed at not only the negative changes in my physical body that occurred over the previous twelve months, but also because I had to take responsibility for falling victim to such a depressive lifestyle. After comforting my grieving soul, I was finally ready to show the stranger in the mirror some love and self-care that she desperately needed. At my first meeting with Alectra, her empathy regarding my personal loss and tragedy in addition to her confidence and willingness to start at square one with me acted as gas to the flame of desired change burning inside me. Each week I eagerly anticipate my sessions with Alectra as I know that even on an impossible day, I will leave Body Renew feeling rejuvenated and invigorated after our sessions. After a mere eight weeks of training with Alectra, I have finally emerged from the depths of grief –embodying an internal and external strength that I have never recognized in my 29 years of life.

I am living proof that with direction, support, and courage, the force and desire to thrive can return again. I cannot wait to continue physically progressing and personally thriving. I owe this step in my healing process to Body Renew. I believe Alectra is a driving force to the Body Renew family. She has the potential to change many lives in a multitude of ways, and I am living proof of this statement. I credit her for helping me see my potential and starting at square one with me, confidently. I look forward to continuing to see changes as I develop into a healthier, new version of myself.

I have suffered with knee pain my entire adult life, having my first knee surgery for arthritis at age 20. When I started meeting with a trainer at Body Renew, I was limited on what I could do for cardio so in the beginning we worked mostly on upper body and core.  Last September, Rob started challenging me with training sessions that protected my knees while raising my heart rate to help me to lose the last 20 pounds.

In November, I had bilateral total knee replacements. Rob never hesitated with my training. He put together upper body and core workouts until my knees were healed enough for to begin including my hips and legs in my training sessions. When my knees were ready, Rob used his knowledge and expertise, under the direction of my physical therapists, to start including my legs in the workouts. Rob challenges me to try new exercises or added weight while carefully watching for improper form or any sign of pain.

Fifteen weeks after getting new knees, my legs are already stronger than ever. I’m excited about continuing my training sessions with Rob and the promise of a future with strong, pain free knees.

Trainer Testimonial: Linda came to me with very specific goals in mind. Dealing with limited mobility in her knees we focused on circuit training to get her heart rate up, targeting her cardiovascular endurance so we could get her down to her desired weight.

In 2007, I was diagnosed with a lung disease called COPD and became oxygen-dependent for all ambulatory activity, even walking.  In short order, I gained around 30 pounds because I was too sick to exercise in any way.  The extra weight made it even more difficult to breathe.  At first, I did nothing but sit and watch TV.  Eventually, I started to walk outside for exercise.  I unfortunately, had to stop exercising when the temperature dropped too low. I discovered that my breathing is severely and negatively affected unless I continuously maintain a regular exercise schedule. In 2009, I joined Body Renew (BR). I was determined to improve my health and hopefully to lose weight. I believe that BR saved my life. BR offered me an exercise option that I could afford and maintain year-round, regardless of the weather. When I joined BR I had to set the speed on the treadmill to 1.1. It was ridiculously slow, but if I went faster my blood oxygen would drop too low- below 90%. Slowly over time, I increase the treadmill speed while maintaining a 02 level above 90%. Today, I consistently walk on the treadmill with speed 2.5-2.8 for one or two miles. The recumbent bike is even easier for me than the treadmill. I can ride 10 miles at RPM between 65 & 70 at levels 1-3. My goal is to exercise three times weekly riding 5 miles and walking 1 mile plus lifting weights every other day. I am now healthy. I’ve lost the 30 pounds I gained when I became sick. I have been unable to lose more weight because increasing my current speed decreases my blood oxygen level. Therefore, I’m satisfied knowing I exercise regularly while maintaining my current weight. One of the most important aspects of BR for me is the staff. They have been so kind to me, especially Steve who has become a friend. The staff encourages me by always greeting me with a smile and friendly words. Because of the staff’s awesome attitude, I look forward to going to BR week after week. I am moving to Texas in April, but BR will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you BR! I will miss all of you.

My journey began after an eye-opening visit to my doctor. I weighed in at 202 lbs. and my doctor informed me that I was obese and at risk of type II diabetes. I was shocked! Until that day I was in denial about and hadn’t stepped on a scale in two years. It was time to make some tough decisions. I stopped drinking and smoking, and invested in a personal trainer instead. This was the best decision I have ever made financially. It has paid off physically and emotionally.

There were some ups and downs in my weight while I dealt with work stress and some serious family issues. With Solo’s help, I have achieved my final goal weight and got just the right type of support I need to succeed. She is genuinely concerned about her clients but tough and organized. I can’t say enough good things about her.

Today I have more vibrant energy and stamina, feel more clam, and am loving my new figure. I’m much better equipped to deal with stress. My son and I are now running local 5k runs together, and are training for a marathon. I still have more work to do, but I just want to feel the best I can so that I can enjoy the good things life has to offer, and be stronger during the tough times.

After two children and a busy life working nightshifts as a Labor Nurse, I had gained a lot of weight. I was always tired and worn down. My primary goal when I started at Body Renew was to lose weight with the help of a personal trainer. Nine months later and fifteen pounds lighter I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer which forced me to suspend my membership while in treatment. Returning to Body Renew 18-months later, I had much different goals. The strength in my muscles was gone, my energy zapped, and I had little endurance for cardio. I felt like I was completely starting over. Slowly my energy returned which helped increase my endurance. Gaining strength was complicated by side effects from medication and doctor’s orders for weight restrictions. I’m not as goal oriented with weight as I am with obtaining and maintain my health. Consistent work with Pav has been invaluable. Not only do I learn more ways to exercise targeted muscles, he keeps my momentum going.

All of a sudden I was Fifty, Fat, and Frustrated with growing health problems. In December 2014 after two trips to the
ER, I decided it was passed time to take charge of my life and get healthy through lifestyle changes. I have been training with Body Renew for a year now. I can truly say it has been a wonderful transformation. When I began, I had just finished physical therapy for knee reconstruction. I sought someplace to train, but even then by myself, I seldom went beyond comfort. I seemed to just sit there wondering what to do next. Not knowing really how to train, I knew I would eventually lose interest and just give up. With my doctor’s consent, I sought further assistance. I remember when I started with my trainer; I could barely do 5 lunges, was overweight, and at 47, I felt tired most of the time due to inactivity. Well my trainer, Pawel Przetocki, was not excepting excuses. He did for me what I was unable to do for myself, motivate and encourage me to push on. With his help and expertise, I found renewed determination to leave the tired and unhealthy person I use to be and push on to a renewed body, strengthened and full of energy. It wasn’t easy at first but with the equipment and trainers at Body Renew, I soon started to see improvement. Soon I was running again, hiking and feeling so much better about myself, which was the best part of it, the more confidence I gained the better I felt. My doctor was amazed, I had lost 45 lbs. gained muscle and my knee was no longer an issue. I hope to continue on this path and a new lifestyle that I have learned as a member of Body Renew.

When I started I was out of shape and on medications to control blood sugar and blood pressure. I am still halfway to my targeted weight but now realized that the goal is not as important as the journey. Now I take pleasure inn pushing myself to achieve new challenges and new athletic goals. Stephen has altered what I believe I could be physically capable of and now I want to push myself harder and faster every day!

When I started working on my transformation about 6 years ago, I had joint and back pain associated with everyday activities and had a lot of weight to lose.

When I couldn’t tolerate the discomfort anymore, I lost a lot of weight on a fad diet but gained it back after losing my father to cancer and letting my emotions take over. I had ballooned to 280 pounds. I got back into training at Body Renew and made progress again, but got stuck on a plateau for months even though I wasn’t near my end goal. Solomeia pointed out to me that my nutrition needed some serious improvements and I soon began the 72-day challenge. To my amazement, I’ve busted through that plateau and barely recognize myself in the mirror. Words cannot express how great I feel now and how much I appreciate what Solo and the rest of the staff at Body Renew have done to support me in this journey.
